trust issues

It's kind of irritating when a friend suddenly asks you whether her mother called me to interrogate about her whereabouts.
This means that she gave her mother my phone number. But, her mother didn't even call.(I bet it was just a threat by her mom). I'm sure there's something fishy about this as eventhough when I ask her why, she says that it's nothing.

My heart is cursing : damn you for using my name!!
Why don't you be sincere to your parents about who you're going out with. Don't cover up with lies. I guess lying is a disease that generates and multiplies every time you start one (a lie).

Memang nak kena!

Oh Natrah

Natrah is a historical story about a Dutch girl raised in Malaysia which had definitely caused conflict in terms of religion, pride and a sense of justice as her biological parents fight for her custody from her guardian (in Malaysia) after 7 years growing up in Malaysia until she reaches puberty. The theme sounds dramatic and theatrical but the show seemed too overwhelmed with the popularity of the tragedy and I felt that the essence of a good theatre was missing.

Last night was the final night of the performance and I felt lucky to be part of the audience. I was eager to watch the show as I have received positive remarks from people who’ve seen it last week, but sadly it did not fulfill my expectations. As a historical movie, the synopsis of the movie and the praise that were in papers and advertisements were a little bit exaggerated as the performance was not as wit as it sounded at all. Personally, I think the feedback people mentioned about the movie was actually the history of Natrah which they may have read/watched elsewhere as it was not portrayed on stage. Audiences must have background schemata on the life of Natrah before watching it and it influenced one to get carried away with the performance through her biography.

I pitied mothers/aunts that went with the little ones (primary schl age) who were constantly asking what happened and why. This showed that it was choppy and the most parts of the storyline were missing thus it created a blurr story. Most of the major scenes weren’t acted but there were captions informing the audience about certain incidents. For me, theatre is not about reading captions on the screen, it is about feeling the emotions of the characters thru their acting and thru the dialogues. What is the use of going to watch a theatre if I have to read (I could just have read it at home and know the whole story). I also believe that a theatre should have a great script and storyline, Natrah was not able to give it a punch. There was a climax of the story but they were not able to prolong and engage with the emotions of the characters as the change was too abrupt. The transaction from a scene to another also didn’t quite leave the audience in awe.

In terms of direction, although they had to stick with the history, improvements could be made on strengthening the theme that they wanted to highlight whether it is in the eyes of Natrah, her mother, her husband and they should play along with the selected theme. They tried to embody everything but it just did not work out as they had too many things on their plate. If the director wanted to stress on the rights as a mother the bond between a mother n daughter scene should be added so that the separation scene would have a really heartening effect as both mothers can show their effort to winning the custody of their daughter.

Well, I don’t really regret going as I learnt a lot about unity and how things can simple things can be complicated. There are people out there who love to manipulate others and we need to be careful in the action that we take. We can hope for justice but at times we need to remember that it is not in our hands. So as Natrah is concerned, I congratulate the production on their effort. All I can say is that it was worth my RM30, I would not pay more or less for the performance.

I would give it 2.5 / 5

cuci

I needed a break after finally finishing my proposal and needed to enjoy myself before facing another 3 weeks of dreaded exams, marking and submission of assignments. I just cannot cope with life these days.
So the girls suggested that we go to watch cuci the musical that night. Luckily there were available seats left for us and I was intrigued and excited since it has been a year since I last went to watch a theatre.
Our seat was right in front of the stage, the second row in fact; and the abang-abang cuci were standing right in front of us. Personally, I liked their backdrop and enjoyed their acting and jokes. We really had fun laughing our heads off from the beginning right until the end. I would recommend those who are trying to have a great day of fun n laughter with friends/ family to go and watch this musical. It will be least recommended for people who are expecting great choreography or great songs, it was just ordinary for me but Adibah Noor’s part was great, so I was so eager anticipating her next move and what she’ll sing. Overall, okla..
I think our Enchanted Forest lagi best! :p

belog

I haven't been updating my blog for sometime, work has given its toll on me with day n night classes. I feel that I don’t have a life like I had before. I really2 need a break and can’t wait till the end of November. Yippie.
Not only that, over the past month, alll blog sites (referred to personal sites) have been blocked by the admin at work. So it is kind of a bummer to not be able to open blogs anymore. Before this they only blocked youtube, all video based webs, friendster and facebook. Now blogs…which is inappropriate since students learn a lot from reading/writing blogs.. So, I’ve written a complaint letter regarding the matter of them blocking blogs, and I also made other lecturers to do the same. Hopefully they will reconsider blocking blogs when they receive the complaint.
Last week my friend a colleague introdueced me to a software and I’ve been using it to enable me to access these sites, but it is a bit slow and I feel guilty most of the time I access these banned pages. Kekeee..
So freaking innocent~

special glow

My grandma took so long to eat her rice during sahur this morning. In fact, she started eating first and finished last. It was in the middle of the meal we only understood why.

She had forgotten where she placed her teeth and she said she can’t remember the last time she had it on. Suddenly she started yelling..
It’s missing, missing!!.. Someone must have taken it... yadda.yadda.yadda (in my heart I cakap, macamla ada org nak curi gigi palsu dia)..
Pening i...

Then in the dark n still feeling sleepy my bro n I looked for her gigi palsu and we couldn’t find it anywhere. It was around subuh, my mom found her missing teeth. It was in the dustbin, she actually threw it in her dustbin!! Alahai nenekku...

Then Ayah said, we have to take her out to make a new one.
My bro added, “ada x gigi palsu glow in the dark?” senang sikit nak cari lain kali..

Fidelity

I never loved nobody fully
Always one foot on the ground
And by protecting my heart truly
I got lost in the sounds
I hear in my mind
All these voices
I hear in my mind all these words
I hear in my mind all this music

And it breaks my heart
And it breaks my heart
And it breaks my heart
It breaks my heart

And suppose I never ever met you
Suppose we never fell in love
Suppose I never ever let you kiss me so sweet and so soft
Suppose I never ever saw you
Suppose we never ever called
Suppose I kept on singing love songs just to break my own fall

Just to break my fall
Just to break my fall
Break my fall
Break my fall

All my friends say that of course its gonna get better
Gonna get better
Better better better better
Better better better

I never love nobody fully
Always one foot on the ground
And by protecting by heart truly
I got lostIn the soundsI hear in my mind
All these voices
I hear in my mind all these words
I hear in my mind
All this music
And it breaks my heart
It breaks my heart

I hear in my mind all of these voices
I hear in my mind all of these words
I hear in my mind all of this music
Breaks myHeart
Breaks my heart

Don’t cry

Last week was the saddest week in my life for certain reasons.

  1. Had an argument with a colleague
  2. Presented a paper and didn’t feel proud of it
  3. Lost my bag at airport. Luckily they found it.. : )
  4. The tenant of my lovely home (which I’m attached to so much) had moved in. Sob2.
  5. Someone stole my favourite pen and a packet of sweets (FruityPlus apple) during break time at a seminar. Although it’s just sweets and a pen, I’m still pissed off.
  6. A student loved me too much till his car kissed my car’s butt.
  7. My friend fell down n chipped a small piece of her backbone because she was scrambling down the stairs. Thank god it’s not that serious.
  8. Hearing break up news from 3 friends in a week. Where’s cupid???
  9. Couldn’t meet up with Bib n Aifaa coz of the anti ISA demo.
  10. Both grandmas at the same time suddenly wanted to stay at other relative’s houses for 2 weeks. The house is quiet.
  11. Dad went to work outstation. Leaving me alone.
  12. So I decided to depress myself some more
    - By cutting my hair. :‘ ( Now I'm sad. What was I thinking?

I hope this week would be better.

Orang agriculture

Ayah selalu outstation seberang laut
Selalu tiada di rumah
Saya tak suka bila dia pergi jalan sorang2
Lebih baik dia bawa Mak atau saya.

Minggu lepas dia pergi lagi
Dia pergi Thailand
Sebagai anak perempuan,
saya harapkan ayah pulang dengan baju2 yg menarik,
perfume dan accessories dari sana.

Saya gembira bila ayah dah balik
Bersyukur dia selamat tiba
Tapi dia hanya bawa balik souvenir

unfair

Kes rompak. Continuation..
After the break in incident, 2 police officers came to check on the house and all the sergeant did was toured the house and commented on petty things which were not helping at all to solve the crime. at the same time, another sergeant was busy snapping pictures. I was so pissed off with them by not doing anything.. All they said was ‘ You bolehla kemas semua ni’ then they left. WTF!!

I don’t really mind about the things that were missing but at least do your job properly in order to solve a crime so that it wont occur again in the future to other houses. Eventhough nothing tragic happened on the scene, are the police going to wait until someone is raped or murdered and only then start investigating properly?

Where’s ur motto kononnya ‘berkhidmat untuk Negara’? hampeh btol. If you just came to snap pictures, I pun boleh ambil. Eee..they can even say that they’re here just to record the case. Blahla… i’m sure there are more people that face the same situation with the police like I did. I thought it only happened in Bangi but police in Nilai n KL pun 2 x 5 based on my friend's stories. So it’s fair to make a generalization that it’s a fact that police investigators are unproductive in a sense of trying to investigate things. Belum sampai standard csi lagi kot. Padahal the finger/thumbprint of the robbers tu sah2 nampak n boleh ambil kat luggage bag yang berdebu se-inci and even on the windows.

Hari tu satu pun tak ambil! How do you think you’re gonna solve the case if you don’t even collect the evidence? Stupidooo…

But what makes me pissed off 3x is that there’s one house on top of the hill near my house (a big fish in e neighbourhood) which was broken into a few days ago but the robbers attempt failed after the alarm went off. So pintu dia kopak sikit je, police officers came with their truck with more than 2 officers siap bawa briefcase mcm CSI tu nak cari fingerprint…. Weyy..kopak sket je pun nak cari fingerprints, bukan kena rompak lagi pun!. This biasness among police officers sekali lagi membuatkan saya bengang dengan motto mereka yang kononnya mesra, cepat dan betul.

Hakikatnya, police mmg mesra, hanya mesra dgn org2 besar jerr, lambat dtg utk investigate and cara perlaksanaan tidak dilakukan dengan terperinci-itulah polis malaysia.

Bad Luck

Last week, I had the chance to go to the land of the Hornbills. The journey was tiring through villages which took approximately 2 hours from the nearest town. I visited schools which were made from wood planks ..okay..they were like wrenches with the smell n all..eww..the population of people there were the poorest among the poorest indeed. the students were so untidy with their torn socks (some holes were as small as a toe and there was one with a hole as big as his own foot). They don’t even iron their uniform. Before entering the class students have to take their shoes off. Some lied on the floor doing their work as there weren’t enough tables and chairs. The school rarely had visitors before, so our presence there made us feel like artists with them smiling and looking at us with awe. I admire the teachers that are so dedicated to teach the students in such situation and they really try to cherish the moment and try to enjoy their lives. Salute to the teachers there who are always happy and commit 100% to any work given. The visit to schools there was a learning experience for me and I do wish that our government can supply enough amenities to these schools in these small village areas for them to learn in a conducive environment.

I also hiked up and went in Niah cave which was an awesome but smelly experience with bat’s urine and shit everywhere. A friend of mine felt so gross to hold the rail as it was covered with bat’s poop so she was so confident that she’ll manage to walk without holding the rail. The stairs were slippery once we got in the caves and in just a few steps in the cave my friend fell sliding down the staircase since she couldn’t hold her balance. Pity her she was limping all the way back to the foot of the hill which took another 2 hours. Overall, the journey to hike up to reach the mouth of the mountain took an hour. To tour in the cave you’ll need an hour and a half. The journey back was so tiring we stopped and each R n R… hahaa… penat tau.. so the journey to n fro u’ll need +/- 5 hours of ‘physical endurance’… so sesape nak naik after this training dulu k.

Then, while I was at the pinnacle of the cave I received dozens of missed calls from my parents back at home. Naseb baik ada line kat atas gua tu. Bila bunyi Tut*tut* tu tandanya hp sy ada line..hehe.. I pun gembira.. Then , my parents informed me that my house was broken into while I was away. Luckily no one was at homeThey found out early morning on Sunday as it was the norm day that they’ll come to visit the house. The burglars got thru the back door umpil grill blakang and tendang pintu belakang with three locks you know..committed btol. they raided my room and my brother’s room and they took all my jewelries, cash money and 2 cameras. Isk, isk..sedihnya. They also left 2 condoms on my bed and left my room in a total mess as they searched each cupboard for any valuable items. Siot jerr.. I am so not in the mood to clean up the mess which I did not make.

Oh, panjang betul entry ni. So whatever it is when you’re having fun, things can happen which will make you sad. Learn to cherish the moment and always remember there’s a reason for everything that happens in life. Be grateful to God for everything. All the things we have, the life we live in and for the blessings in ways that sometimes we don’t realize, that is what we call *A blessing in disguise.*
